All Blacks in America!

Good news for American rugby fans, the All Blacks will play vs the Eagles in Chicago next November (read). 

New Zealand last tour in America was in 1913, when the All Blacks played USA and Californian teams (Olympic Club in SF, Universities in Bay Area... list of games).

Quite a bitter experience for young American rugby (NZ scored 508 points for, 3 against in 13 fixtures....). Historian huw Richards even calls it "The tour that killed American rugby"...

I have in my drawers these two photographs from the game played by the All Blacks vs Stanford on Oct. 18, 1913 at Stanford Park... final score 56-0...

I also have a copy of this fine picture of Stanford team. I'm afraid I don't remember where it comes from and who should be credited for... Hope he/she won't mind my borrowing ;)

Il fera bien froid en Chicago le premier weekend en Novembre-mais on y mangera bien! (Surtout le pizza et les produits du porc et du bief). Mon copain Tom et moi, nous pensons a` acheter les billets pour aller voir Les Aigles contre les All Blacks dans la ville natale de ma femme.
