As this fine postcard (1910) reads "May Christmas bring you joy and the New Year every happiness"!
I was a bit puzzled to discover that the sentence above the picture "He misses not much" comes out of William Shakespeare's "The Tempest" (1610). At first glance, there's nothing much about rugby in this play... except when you consider that this exact dialog relates to a rugby ground...
GONZALO. How lush and lusty the grass looks! how green!
ANTONIO. The ground indeed is tawny.
SEBASTIAN. With an eye of green in't.
ANTONIO. He misses not much.
